This is a two part workshop. You must attend Tuesday, December 1st as well.
Have you ever wanted to DJ tango events? Or maybe you've always wanted a deeper understanding of tango music? Perhaps you're curious about the ins and outs of what your DJs go through to make an awesome event?
Whatever your motivation, this workshop is for you!
Upon completing the workshop, you will have the opportunity to co-DJ tango events in Boise to start and eventually DJ events solo for free admission and even get paid, too.
Over the course of two Tuesday sessions, we'll cover topics like:
- Where to start and how to improve
- Where to get music (I'll give you a big head start!)
- Tango orchestras and styles
- Using sound equipment
- Building tandas and playlists
- Reading a room/influencing mood
- Resources to continue your education
Please bring a notepad and something to write with and flash drive (at least 10 GB) labeled with your name.
Be prepared for 3 hours of homework a week (6 hours total).
Tuesday, December 1st and 8th, 7:00pm-8:30pm (both sessions are required)

Shortly after starting dancing tango, Tommy developed a passion for tango music and DJing. He believes great music is key to great social dancing. To educate and motivate beginning DJs, progressing DJs, and those interested in tango music, Tommy offers semi-regular DJ workshops. Events he has DJ'd at include Montana's Tango Uprising, Salt Lake City Tango Festival, Mountain Milonga, and Missoula Tango Marathon.
